As many of you are aware our market has recently been flooded by cheap boxes originating out of China. These products are problematic for a number of reasons, but it is important to note that all of us who have been selling bird boxes for a number of years have gone through rigorous steps to get USPS approval and maintain compliance. These boxes, however, are made from much cheaper materials and in addition to being stopped all along the shipping route, we have had reports of boxes being crushed, birds escaping, and diseases spreading across entire shipments. Here at Horizon we want to do our part in informing everyone of the possible risks involved when shipping live birds, and these pose a dangerous threat to having the market shut down for everyone.
